Watt’s third opera, Hyphenated-Man, came out in April. Rolling Stone gave it 3.5/5 stars. Pitchfork gave the album 7.9/10, stating that he “might have just made his best post-Minutemen work.” NY Times details the characters (songs) that make up Watt’s opera.
Watt and ex-wife Kira Roessler (Black Flag), known together as Dos, released their second album dos y dos this past summer. The release garnered attention from the likes of Studio 360 , NPR, Rad Collector, and Verbicide Magazine.
Now Watt is back with a new project, Spielgusher, which debuts tomorrow (1/17) and features vocals (spiels) from rock critic Richard Meltzer. Check out a song at Magnet Magazine and order the CD here.
