UPDATE (12/17/15): After evaluating the situation further, we have determined that the defects are not as widespread as we had initially thought. While the majority of our Cold Mountain vinyl pressing is flawless, there are some defected records out there. The defect is clearly visible without even listening to the record. If you come across a bad copy and would like a replacement, please e-mail us at email@example.com and we will get a new copy sent out right away.
We have received some terrible news that there are a number of defective LPs in our recent pressing of Cold Mountain: Music from the Motion Picture, which was scheduled to hit the shelves tomorrow. The pressing plant is in the process of identifying how this occurred and how widespread the issue may be.
The plant is working overtime to correct the mistake, and assures us that we will have replacements available soon. In the meantime, we have initiated a complete recall in order to ensure that only quality copies make it into our customers’ hands.
Unfortunately, many of the records have already reached record stores. Although we have alerted them about the recall and encouraged them to return the records, we cannot guarantee some of these defective records will not reach their shelves. If you happen to come across one and would like to exchange it, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Providing quality records is of the upmost importance to us. This is the first time we have had to recall a pressing, and we are doing everything in our power to make sure the issue is addressed and corrected immediately.
