A Look Back at 2020

What a year. It’s safe to say that we’re all ready to bid 2020 farewell. Looking back over the last twelve months, which felt more like twelve years, we’re grateful that we were able to continue releasing some great music.

Over the course of year, we released 25 new records, including ten Record Store Day exclusives over three RSD Drops, and two more for RSD Black Friday.  We collaborated on two new compilations with our friends at Aquarium DrunkardLagniappe Sessions Volume 2 and Jesus People Music, Volume 1 We shared the debut album from one of our favorite new groups, Oozelles.  We formed a new partnership with Brunswick Records, starting with reissues from The Chi-Lites and Jackie Wilson. We continued our longstanding series of releases featuring bassist Mike Watt, with Sock-Tight’s Smudge and the Stooge’s tribute 1970 with Larry Mullins. We co-released Dream Sitch’s debut on vinyl with our buds PIAPTK. Our Sun Records Curated by RSD series reached it’s eighth volume, along with a second set of 3-inch vinyl from Sun Records. Josh Klinghoffer’s Pluralone shared multiple b-side releases and a brand new album.  We resurrected long lost recordings from artists like Jimmy Sweeney and Big Bill Broonzy. Chuck Dukowski’s WÜRM released their first new music in decades. We released various indie exclusives, including special releases with our friends at Zia Records and Bull Moose. Just this month, we announced our new Bad Brains Records imprint. And that doesn’t even begin to cover it all!

We’re eternally grateful for your support, and we couldn’t have made it through this year without you. There's a ton of great music lined up for 2021, which we can’t wait to share with you. Even if it’s not quite the same this year, we hope you all have a safe, happy holiday season full of great music.
