Milk Jennings debut album ‘Sleep Talker’, produced & mixed by Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby, Alexandra Savior, Danger Mouse), will be released on June 3, 2022. The record features Cohen & Jennings performing almost every instrument on the album, flute by Cochemea Gastelum (Beck, The Roots, St. Vincent), and backup vocals by Brianna Leary. Milk Jennings sound drifts from bright indie rock songs like “Side of the Street” and “Downtown,’” to darker psych-rock tinged songs like “Raincoat” and “Someday Sunday,” to 60’s-esque lullabies like “Everyday” and “Late Night,” all with Jennings own pop flavoring. His sound can be compared to modern artists such as Andy Shauf, Rostam, and Sam Evian. Pressed on milky clear color vinyl.

Sun Ra’s Arkestra was at its most radical during this period, alternating simple chants with very outside playing and dense ensembles. Although no precise date is given, these five cuts are thought to have been documented circa 1967-1968 by Sun Ra (piano) and his Arkestra in New York City, where the band was in residence at the time.
First released in a limited edition color vinyl for Record Store Day 2014, this title is now widely available on audiophile-grade black vinyl, pressed at Pallas Group in Germany. It’s a must have for any serious avant garde jazz fan.
David Hillyard & The Rocksteady 7 are back with their first release since their 2018 album, The Giver. The new seven inch single "The Frog” — Hillyard’s reinterpretation of João Donato’s "A Rã” — is the first glimpse at the group’s upcoming album, Plague Doctor, which is due out this summer. The single, like the album it precedes, blends the Rocksteady 7’s signature sound, which combines elements of American jazz and Jamaican influences, with classic Brazilian rhythms and themes. The Rocksteady 7 features some of the best players in the current ska/reggae scene, including members of NYC ska staples The Slackers and percussionist Larry McDonald (Toots & The Maytals, Gil Scott-Heron. Lee “Scratch” Perry). Fittingly, “The Frog” comes on green color vinyl, with the full track split between two sides. Includes digital download of both tracks.
Twenty-six years after The Minutemen's landmark Double Nickels on the Dime, Watt returns to the familiar punk and jazz influenced sound he and his band made famous. This time, it's more refined and more mature without lacking any of the energy or urgency of yesteryear. Hyphenated-Man features thirty songs in 47 minutes with Watt on bass, his deep baritone singing melodies and reciting spoken word while the Missingmen (Raul Morales and Tom Watson) wail on drums and guitar.
Adam Green and Kimya Dawson originally crossed paths at an open mic night in Mount Kisco, New York in the early 90s. From there they went on to record a surplus of home recordings with various friends under the moniker The Moldy Peaches, and eventually became staples in the NYC anti-folk scene of the late 90’s/ early 2000’s. After releasing several albums that gained traction in the U.S. and UK, the group broke into the mainstream when their song “Anyone Else But You” appeared in the hit indie film “Juno” (2007).
Origin Story: 1994-1999 is a collection of songs, unreleased demos, live tracks, and poems from the early years of The Moldy Peaches, and outline the tale of how the band came to be. Liner notes written by Adam and Kimya detail the stories behind each track and rare photos included in the packaging help to illustrate the life and times of the duo when they were young.

Palisades is the sophomore album from Eric Slick. Originally released in 2017, the album is steeped in psychedelia and often features a noticeably darker sound than his other work. Accented by reverb-drenched bursts of guitar and colorful synths, the record takes the listener on an introspective journey influenced by his experiences with meditation and dream therapy. The 8-song collection showcases Slick coming into his own as a songwriter, with Relix magazine calling it “sublime.” Now ORG Music is bringing the title to vinyl for the first time, available widely on silver color vinyl.

The Spiritual, a free jazz album recorded by the Art Ensemble of Chicago in 1974, finds the group of stellar musicians at their creative peak. With various types of percussion, though the absence of a traditional drummer, the ensemble is able to create vivid, freeing compositions without the confines of conventional structure. The quartet, consisting of Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell, Lester Bowie, and Malachi Favors, explore the depths of Avant-Garde Jazz through a means that has yet to be touched on in a comparable capacity. Previously released on red color vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day, The Spiritual will now be widely available on 180gram black vinyl. Mastered by Dave Gardner at Infrasonic Mastering. Lovely Music chronicles the early days of Ivan Mairesse’s Sagittaire project, pulling from material written between 2015 and 2017 in San Francisco, where Mairesse recorded the album before moving back to his hometown of Los Angeles. Mairesse takes an introspective approach to songwriting on Lovely Music, juxtaposing dark lyrics with lush pop arrangements and a tender vocal delivery. Originally self-released in 2020 solely in digital form, the album gets a new life with this vinyl release, a joint venture between Org Music and Aquarium Drunkard. The album is available on yellow color vinyl. While this 2017 recording will be an introduction to Sagittare for most, Mairesse has written and recorded a wealth of new material in the subsequent years, varying in style and genre, so you can expect to hear more from him soon.

Odyssey stands as James Blood Ulmer’s signature masterpiece, the purest and most accessible showcase for his bold, genre-clashing guitar vision. With minimal trio accompaniment - only drummer Warren Benbow and violinist Charles Burnham - Ulmer’s guitar is always the meat of the ensemble, especially since his unique tuning (developed for this album) allows him to cover bass parts as well as guitar leads. AllMusic’s Steve Huey calls it “not only Ulmer’s finest album, but a certified classic of the modern jazz avant-garde.” Now Odyssey finally gets the audiophile treatment it deserves, in the form of a double LP, mastered at 45RPM from original analog tapes by Bernie Grundman, pressed on 180gram vinyl at Pallas in Germany, and housed in Stoughton case-wrapped jacket. Numbered, Limited Edition of 2000 Copies.
Würm was a sludge metal band started in 1973 by bass player Chuck Dukowski, who would later join Black Flag. Without Würm, the genres of punk rock and hardcore would never have been the same. The band’s practice space, the Würmhole – a hangout for musicians in Hermosa Beach during the mid-late 70’s – is where Keith Morris and Greg Ginn met Dukowski and ultimately formed the original Black Flag line-up. The band’s only album, Feast, was released in 1985 after the band’s demise. With the help of Chuck Dukowski, the long-out-of-print LP is being “exhumed” and reissued, along with a second LP featuring unreleased tracks, demos, and more. The package comes complete with retrospective liner notes from Dukowski himself, plus never-before-seen photos from the early days. Previously an exclusive for Black Friday 2019, the double LP was released on limited edition blue color vinyl.

Once again, Johnny Cash teams up with Jerry Lee Lewis to deliver a power-packed, one-of-a-kind release. The legends delve into their gospel roots, revisiting the great standards such as "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and "Give Me That Old Time Religion," as well as interpreting the New Orleans favorite "When the Saints Go Marching In." While the songs are not all traditional gospel favorites, the blend of folksy Sunday-afternoon-drive music makes for a winning package.

Mia Doi Todd follows up her acclaimed album 'Music Life' with a set of stellar remixes, entitled 'Ten Views of Music Life.' Described by Dusted Magazine as "one of those artists that seem to function not just as creators in their own right, but as connecting links between other musicians," Mia did not need to look far to find world-class artists to remix her songs. The diversity of the resulting collection is also its strength. Despite a wide range of stylistic methodologies employed, the project feels cohesive and creates the impression of a magical world uniting around the purity of expression in Mia's voice. Her vocals and other elements from the original 'Music Life' tracks find themselves enveloped in entirely new landscapes, from Dntel's quirky electro-pop, to Julia Holter and Tashi Wada's pensive and heartfelt orchestration, to the inimitable, free-form disco-boogie touch of Georgia Anne Muldrow. There's an Afrobeat contribution from LA's Jungle Fire and a cinematic kaleidoscope from Carlos Nin~o & Friends, featuring Jamael Dean and Sharada Shashidhar. Brazilian producer Kassin gives a fresh twist to Mia's version of Gregory Isaacs' classic "If I Don't Have You." Pianist Vardan Ovsepian's brooding yet hopeful arrangement of "Take Me to the Mountain" ventures into the hills and valleys of sound, cradling Mia’s rich voice in subtle reharmonizations. The album includes contributions from some of Mia's longtime collaborators, such as Dntel and Carlos Nin~o, as well as from a younger generation of musicians, such as the brilliant up-and-coming producer Jamael Dean (here as Jira><, in addition to his keyboard work with Carlos) and Human Error Club (featuring Mekala Session of the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra on drums). The cover artwork by Kozyndan portrays Mia as Benzaiten, goddess of music in the Japanese pantheon, with a wink to the Greek vase painting style of the cover of 'Music Life' - a visual remix, itself, of Mia's original artwork.

Planet Chernobyl. Poem, libretto, opera. There’s more than one Planet Chernobyl. You’ll find that here, in the words of poet Charles Plymell, the vision of bassist Mike Watt and the orchestrations of singer/composer Petra Haden. Plymell’s words chronicle the horrific Chernobyl disaster of 1986. After finding the heavy subject matter very moving, Watt and Haden were inspired to put the words to music in order to share them with the world. Planet Chernobyl will be available on vinyl on 6/16, with cover artwork by Tanya Haden.

Equal parts primal, early rock’n’roll, deviant hill country blues & avant-garde art - TAV FALCO’s PANTHER BURNS are ramshackle, raw, unholy & utterly amazing. His historico-musico revue, The Unapproachable Panther Burns, originated in 1979 at the nadir of Memphis’ postmodern, post-Beale, post-Sun, post-Stax era, when the Mississippi River town had seemingly disappeared from the cultural map and shriveled into an obsolescent landmark.
This limited edition 7” release features bass legend Mike Watt and drummer Toby Dammit. The tracks were recorded during their 2015 USA Whistle Blower Tour.

Skywriting is the latest full length album from Zachary Cale, primarily recorded at Black Dirt Studio by Jason Meagher in upstate New York. As Cale’s seventh studio record, Skywriting takes on a new focus for the seasoned songwriter, pivoting to more of a band-focused rock album. Inspired by many years on the road, the songs that make up the album depict characters in a state of perpetual motion, or better yet a constant state of becoming. The gamble and sacrifice that one makes in pursuit of their art is felt in just about every line. Many of the songs reflect on time spent traveling between cities, being away from loved ones, introspective moments in motel rooms, green rooms, and long stretches of highway.

Formed in Vallejo, California in the 1950's, The Viscaynes were a high school doo-wop group who are said to be the first recorded singing group of Sylvester Stewart (aka Sly Stone), and the launching point of his extensive career. The group gained some early notoriety with a performance on Dick Stewart's Dance Party, after which they were introduced to producer George Motola. Charting on KYA radio's top 60 chart in 1961, "Yellow Moon" became a hit song for The Viscaynes, though they split up around the time of the song's popularity. "The Viscaynes & Friends" is the first official full-length release from the group, coming to light only after a master tape reel was discovered more than half a century since the group disbanded. The release features seven tracks from Sly and The Viscaynes, along with one cut from the The Individuals and two from The Precisions, all of which were produced by Motola.
The vinyl release comes in a gatefold jacket with extensive liner notes from author, historian, and radio host Rickey Vincent.

"Impression" is a carousel ride through time with the Bonnie & Clyde of psych-pop, where classic meets contemporary. Sugar Candy Mountain gallops seamlessly from tripped out Tropicália, Shuggie Otis inspired grooves, kaleidoscopic psych jams, classic 70's reverie, and nods to krautrock without ever skipping a beat. Along the way Reiter's honeyed voice hovers seductively between breaking and beauty, taking us on a sensational ride through the ups and downs of apocalyptic visions, tender sunlit musings on love, and deep gazes of self reflection. "As the year 2020 approached, a number of exciting plans were in the works for me to continue my yearlong 80th Birthday Tour that had successfully kicked off on May 26th, 2019. But on February 2nd , 2020, I played my one & only concert of the year! Because in March of 2020, the worldwide shutdown and ban of all live musical performances sadly became a way of life. Music, and live music in particular, is one of the true phenomenons of our very existence, so to have it eliminated effects each and every one of us leaving a void and disrupting & severing some of the most vital elements of the human spirit! On a personal level & due to my DNA I was compelled to seek out a solution for me to remain creative, positive and sane! So in September of 2020, after spending 5 agonizing months in isolation and musical lock down, I decided to uplift my spirits by launching a solo recording project. I wasn’t sure how I would do it, or even if I were in enough shape to do it. I dug down deep for strength & the courage that was needed to began the process of creating a lasting piece of Art After discussing the idea with some of my close fans and friends , I was inspired to precede; the problem though was ,with the exception of playing a couple of numbers one night at a beautiful gathering in Malibu , I hadn’t played with anyone in 5 months, so it still took a lot of soul searching to actually go forward! Time is a ever changing ever evolving never ceasing constant, In the 1970’s I composed a album entitled “The Time Is Now”, so once again time is the theme, motivation & inspiration for a Phil Ranelin project All of the positive flow of energy and love that surrounded me, gave me the courage to precede with the idea of recording a album that would represent a 2020 version of myself; “INFINITE EXPRESSIONS” is in fact , a true labor of Love! So with guidance from the ultimate source, the most high, I was able to complete the project that hopefully you are listening to right now! All of my life I have had spiritual guidance & protection that has allowed me to stay the course and persevere, this project is no different! THANK YOU GOD!"

This project - two songs, "Cats" and "Funny Face" (A-side/B-side) bring together the sophisticated song craft of singer-songwriter Johnny O'Donnell, the iconoclast arrangements of Van Dyke Parks, and the genial production touch of Lewis Pesacov into a refreshing and rewarding musical package that deserves the focus that only a seven inch provides. The arrangements and production are cinematic and full of drama which befits a production born of the belly of Hollywood. Romance, intrigue, and a touch of the unreal is where the tripartite of musical craftsmen have brewed this potion of melodies. Previously only available for Record Store Day 2021, this release is now widely available on purple color vinyl.
Altoist Marion Brown is perhaps best known for performances on albums by his contemporaries, such as Coltrane's Ascension, but Brown stands on his own as one of the most creative and important forces to come out of the 1960s avant-garde jazz movement. Porto Novo is widely regarded as one of Brown's best recordings, captured during a 1967 session in Holland at the peak of his creative powers, accompanied by bassist Maarten van Regteben Altena and drummer Han Bennink. Previously out of print for decades, the recording has now been remastered for a long-overdue reissue on audiophile-grade vinyl, originially released exclusively for Record Store Day 2020, now widely available.

Way Out Yonder is the second live release from Terry Riley & Gyan Riley, the duo comprised of iconic American composer and minimalist pioneer Terry Riley and his guitarist/composer son Gyan Riley. The album is comprised of spontaneous improvisations and compositions by both Terry and Gyan, captured during three performances in Canada, Japan and the US, and features the elder Riley on piano, voice, melodica and electronics. The album artwork was created by Barbara Falconer, who also painted the cover of Riley’s landmark 1978 release, Sri Camel.
