Nearly seven years since their debut seven inch release, Tone Scientists are back with the five song Kiiroi Tori EP. The project joins Mike Watt and Bucky Pope, the latter of whom assumes the producer role this time around, with drummer John Herndon of Tortoise and two longtime Watt collaborators, flute/sax player Vince Meghrouni and keyboard player Pete Mazich. Like their first release, the EP includes an ambitious Sun Ra cover, with their distinctive take on "The Sun One”, along with four tunes penned by Pope and Watt.
The release will be available on two limited 12" vinyl pressings, one black and another on banana peel color vinyl, as well as digital formats. Vinyl pressed at Furnace Record Pressing.

Color Me Country
ORGM-2225
Linda Martell was the first African-American woman to make the country charts and to appear at the Grand Ole Opry, and helped lay the groundwork for future artists of color in the genre. Despite multiple TV appearances, a dozen appearances at the Opry, and some big hits - including "Color Him Father", "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" and "Bad Case of the Blues" - her 1970 debut album, Color Me Country, would also be her last. Now the album was remastered for its first vinyl pressing in over half a century for Record Store Day 2022. The reissue was mastered by Dave Gardner and pressed on transparent orange vinyl at Furnace Record Pressing.
