Compiled in 1985, Descendents’ Bonus Fat combines the band’s debut single with 1981’s Fat EP, as well as the outtake “Global Probing”. It chronicles the nascent years of one of punk’s most vaunted bands during a phase of caffeine-fueled bursts of energy, mapping their transition from a breezy, surf-tinged brand of power pop to the more aggressive, hardcore sound found on the Fat EP. Originally released on the Minutemen’s New Alliance Records, the tracks laid the groundwork for the landmark debut that would cement the band’s legacy forever.
Salt + Pepper (shatter) pressing limited to 300 copies.
